How to fight Warrior

Beat Fury Warrior

Threat Medium12.0.130s cheat sheet

What they want to do

Hamstring you, press Recklessness, and Rampage until their self-healing outruns your healer. They win Solo Shuffle when you stay in melee on a slowed target and try to trade hits.

Main danger

Recklessness Rampage on someone who already used a defensive. Enraged Regeneration is the trap — they heal while they keep hitting you, so a trade during that window is theirs.

Interrupt priority

  1. 1 Your own crowd control into Spell Reflection

Throw a cheap instant first to bait Spell Reflection, then stun. Do not open the round with your real crowd control; the first spell they see is often Spell Reflection.

  2. 1 Their healer, not the warrior

Fury does not cast the kill. Hold your kick for the healer they are sitting on, not the warrior.

  3. 2 Storm Bolt (on you)

You do not kick this. Trinket Storm Bolt if Intimidating Shout is still available; sit the stun if the fear is already used.

Watch for

  • Recklessness on a target they already Hamstring — that is the kill, and you cannot walk out of Rampage.
  • Enraged Regeneration during Recklessness. They heal while they keep hitting; stop your damage window, do not finish the trade.
  • Spell Reflection as they Charge in. The first spell of the connect is theirs.
  • Rallying Cry at low health to bait one more defensive from you. Keep chip pressure; it is not a wall.

Offensive cooldowns

  • Recklessness. Major damage window. Rampage actually kills during this, not before. Be in a defensive or already leaving melee if you are Hamstring'd.
  • Rampage. The dump inside Recklessness. If you are slowed and in melee, this is the damage that kills. Line it or already have a wall; do not try to out-hit it.
  • Raging Blow. Keeps Enrage up. A quiet second is not the window ending — they are reloading Rampage.
  • Bladestorm if talented. Unstoppable cleave on top of Recklessness. Line it. Talent, not the spec default — Recklessness is still the kill even if they did not take this.
  • Hamstring. The setup. Recklessness on a target who can still run is a wasted window. Root them or line before they Heroic Leap, not after you are already slowed.

Defensive cooldowns

  • Enraged Regeneration. Stop your damage window. They keep hitting while they heal. Swap or wait it out — do not finish a trade into it.
  • Spell Reflection. Throw a cheap instant first, then your real stun. Assume it is up on first Charge.
  • Rallying Cry. Group health increase, not a wall. Keep chip pressure; do not stop the round.
  • Intervene. Eats a kick or stun meant for a partner. Recast crowd control on the warrior, not on the person they covered.
  • Impending Victory. Small self-heal after they land a hit. Not Enraged Regeneration — keep going.

Crowd control

  • Storm Bolt
  • Intimidating Shout
  • Shockwave
  • Hamstring

Dispels

  • Intimidating Shout is a fear — dispel it off your healer, or spread so it does not hit the group.
  • Soothe Enrage if you have it — their self-healing and Rampage damage both drop.

Mobility

Charge, Heroic Leap, and Hamstring. They close for free and they stay for free. Do not kite in a straight line. Root them or put terrain between you before the second Heroic Leap; a straight sprint loses to Charge.

Kill windows

  • Enraged Regeneration and Spell Reflection are both spent — that is when your damage window is allowed.
  • After Recklessness fades without a kill they are often committed with no wall left.
  • They Heroic Leap onto a healer with Charge already spent and cannot immediately return.

When to run

When Recklessness is up, you are Hamstring'd, and Enraged Regeneration is still available. Line the Rampage. Do not stay in melee to trade.

When to attack

After Enraged Regeneration and Spell Reflection are both spent. After Recklessness fades they are often committed with no wall. While they Charge or Heroic Leap onto someone else.

Common tricks

  • Spell Reflection is often pressed with Charge. Assume it is up the first time they connect; throw a junk spell, then stun.
  • They Hamstring, then Heroic Leap, so Recklessness cannot be kited. Root before the Heroic Leap, not after you are already slowed.
  • Enraged Regeneration is pressed inside Recklessness to win the trade, not as a panic button after. If they are still hitting you, the heal is working — stop your dump.

Common mistakes against them

  • Dumping your offensive cooldowns into Enraged Regeneration.
  • Casting your first crowd-control spell into Spell Reflection.
  • Trying to out-melee Recklessness without a defensive already up.
  • Kiting in a straight line from Charge and Heroic Leap.

30 second cheat sheet

kick
Do not interrupt the Fury warrior. Throw a cheap spell first to bait Spell Reflection, then stun. Save your kick for their healer.
watchFor
Recklessness after Hamstring is the kill. Enraged Regeneration during that window heals them while they keep hitting. Expect Spell Reflection as they Charge in.
defensives
Stop your go when Enraged Regeneration is up — they keep hitting. Do not stun into Spell Reflection. Rallying Cry is a group health bump, not a wall — keep chip pressure.
cc
Storm Bolt is the ranged stun into Recklessness. Intimidating Shout fears the group — dispel or spread. Shockwave plants you so they can Rampage in melee.
killWindow
Go after Enraged Regeneration and Spell Reflection are both spent. After Recklessness fades they are often committed with no wall left.
biggestMistake
Dumping your offensive cooldowns into Enraged Regeneration, or casting your first CC into Spell Reflection.
