How to fight Druid
Beat Guardian Druid
What they want to do
Wild Charge onto the flag or node, Incapacitating Roar the clump, then sit in Ironfur and Frenzied Regeneration until Survival Instincts eats your stun. They win Blitz on high health plus incapacitate, not on Rip or a Restoration clone chain. If they took Cyclone, that clone is still first. Shuffle data is limited — a rare Shuffle bear is a sponge, not a cat.
Main danger
Incapacitating Roar on a stacked go, then high health plus Frenzied Regeneration making the health bar lie. Survival Instincts plus Barkskin eats the first stun. They do not have a Feral Rip engine or a Restoration Ironbark ramp. Limited Shuffle data — Low threat is honest; ignoring the roar is still how the node flips.
Interrupt priority
1 Cyclone if they can
Always first if they took it. A free clone on the extra DPS is a lost go. Guardian clone is the same spell as Restoration — do not ignore it because they are in bear.
2 Their healer, not the bear
You almost never interrupt Guardian. Interrupt the healer they just Incapacitating Roared. Skull Bash is their kick — do not greed a cast in melee on the node.
3 Hibernate (vs beasts/dragons)
Situational. Cyclone still beats it if both are showing. Most Guardian interrupts you spend are on the partner, not on these.
Watch for
- Incapacitating Roar on the stacked Blitz node the moment you press cooldowns — spread first, then go after the roar.
- Survival Instincts overlapping Barkskin so the first stun looks free and then does nothing — sit or swap.
- Frenzied Regeneration ticking while Ironfur is stacked — they are not dying. Stop the dump.
- Wild Charge onto the runner or off the flag after the roar lands — cover the landing, do not chase travel form.
Offensive cooldowns
- Mangle. Rage and the melee pad. This is not a kill. Do not respect it like a Feral Ferocious Bite. Pressure only.
- Thrash. Cleave bleed on the clump they just roared. Walk out. A poison or magic dispel does nothing to it.
- Rage of the Sleeper if talented. The closest thing they have to a damage cooldown, plus a physical pad. Sit melee cooldowns or swap. Casters can keep chip pressure.
- Wild Charge. The Blitz connect. They charge the flag, roar, then charge the runner. Cover the landing; do not chase travel form in a straight line.
Defensive cooldowns
- Survival Instincts. The wall. Stop the go. Swap or sit. Do not finish burst into it. They stay in bear and Frenzied Regeneration behind it — this is not a Feral Survival Instincts into a cat dump.
- Barkskin. Short damage reduction. Keep chip pressure unless Survival Instincts or Frenzied Regeneration is also up.
- Frenzied Regeneration. The Guardian heal. Big heal-over-time in bear. Keep hitting only if Survival Instincts is already burned. Dumping into a fresh frenzy is how the node stays theirs.
- Ironfur. Stacked physical damage reduction. Melee checks stacks before offensive cooldowns. Casters ignore it. If they are spinning Ironfur in the open they are rebuilding, not killing you.
- Rage of the Sleeper if talented. Physical damage reduction plus damage. Melee sits; casters keep going. Do not read it as Survival Instincts — Survival Instincts is still coming.
Crowd control
- Incapacitating Roar
- Mighty Bash
- Ursol's Vortex
- Cyclone if talented
- Entangling Roots
Dispels
- Cyclone cannot be dispelled. Do not trinket it. Swap off the cloned target and play the remaining fight.
- Roots are magic. Incapacitating Roar is a disorient — trinket rules start here, not on Ursol's Vortex.
Mobility
Wild Charge, Stampeding Roar, travel form. They charge onto the node and roar the team out. Face the charge angle at the flag, not the bear's current square. Do not chase travel form in a straight line — root the landing, then go. Ursol's Vortex holds the clump they just roared; step out before you trinket.
Kill windows
- Survival Instincts down, and they are not frenzying
- Barkskin burned and Ironfur is thin
- After a wasted Incapacitating Roar with no Mighty Bash follow, caught without Wild Charge
When to run
Incapacitating Roar is coming and Survival Instincts is still available. Do not stack for a stun on the bear. Spread, then go after the roar. Line if they Ursol's Vortex the clump onto the flag.
When to attack
Survival Instincts down, Frenzied Regeneration not ticking. After a wasted roar. Interrupt Cyclone first if they shapeshift to throw it. Physical still works through Barkskin; melee cooldowns wait for Ironfur to drop. Shuffle data is thin — play the Blitz.
Common tricks
- They roar the clump on the node, then charge the runner. The bear is not the kill — the roar is the steal.
- Cyclone first if they can clone. Bear clone is still clone. Interrupt it the same way you interrupt a Restoration druid.
- Frenzied Regeneration plus Ironfur looks like they are dying. They are not. Force Survival Instincts before you commit the second stun.
Common mistakes against them
- Ignoring Incapacitating Roar on the node.
- Dumping a full go into Survival Instincts plus Frenzied Regeneration.
- Trinketing Cyclone.
- Trying to burn the bear while Ironfur is stacked and Survival Instincts is still available.
30 second cheat sheet
- kick
- Interrupt Cyclone first if they shapeshift to throw it — bear clone is still clone. Do not waste kicks on the Guardian. Save the rest for the healer they roared.
- watchFor
- Incapacitating Roar on a stacked Blitz node is how they steal the flag. Survival Instincts overlapping Barkskin eats the first stun. Frenzied Regeneration means they are not dying.
- defensives
- Stop the go during Survival Instincts. Keep chip through Barkskin unless Frenzied Regeneration is also ticking. Melee wait for Ironfur stacks to drop; casters ignore it.
- cc
- Trinket Incapacitating Roar if the node is flipping; do not trinket Cyclone. Mighty Bash is the follow stun. Step out of Ursol's Vortex before you trinket.
- killWindow
- Go after Survival Instincts is down and Frenzied Regeneration is not ticking. After a wasted Incapacitating Roar they are a sponge. Shuffle data is thin — play the Blitz.
- biggestMistake
- Ignoring Incapacitating Roar on the node, or dumping a full go into Survival Instincts plus Frenzied Regeneration.
