What they want to do

Stun you, Between the Eyes, then Adrenaline Rush while Grappling Hook yanks the room into Smoke Bomb. Between the Eyes crit is lower and Grappling Hook is slower than last season, but Kidney Shot into Between the Eyes still kills if you skip a defensive.

Main danger

Grappling Hook into Smoke Bomb, then Between the Eyes after the stun. Burst is smaller than last season. Isolation is the same trick — your healer cannot see the kill if you stay in the cloud.

Interrupt priority

1. 1 Their healer, not the rogue

   Do not interrupt the Outlaw rogue. Kick their healer the moment they Blind or Smoke Bomb. Outlaw does not cast the kill.

2. 1 Your magic crowd control into Cloak of Shadows

   Throw a junk spell first. Real crowd control after Cloak of Shadows. They cloak the first magic spell every round.

3. 2 Nothing they channel

   Between the Eyes, Dispatch, and Pistol Shot are instants. Do not waste a kick on the outlaw — look at their healer.

Watch for

• Between the Eyes the moment a stun lands — that is still the kill. Use a defensive before it, not after the hit.
• Grappling Hook into Smoke Bomb so your healer cannot see the kill. Step out of the cloud to peel.
• Adrenaline Rush overlapping Kidney Shot. Blade Flurry will cleave if you are stacked; spread off the kill target.
• Cloak of Shadows eating your first magic crowd control, then a restun into Between the Eyes. Throw a cheap magic spell first.

Offensive cooldowns

• Between the Eyes. The burst after a stun. Crit is lower than last season. Still use a defensive before it, not after. Skipping the wall because the hit is softer is how you die.
• Adrenaline Rush. Major damage window. Assume Blade Flurry if you are stacked. Spread off the kill target for the duration.
• Blade Flurry. Cleave around the kill target. Do not stand on that person during Adrenaline Rush.
• Grappling Hook. Gap closer and setup into Smoke Bomb. Cooldown is longer than last season — punish a missed hook; they cannot re-enter for free. Kite after a miss.
• Dreadblades / Keep It Rolling if talented. Extends or replaces the Adrenaline Rush window. Treat a rolling Rush as still live; do not re-enter melee because the first buff faded.

Defensive cooldowns

• Cloak of Shadows. Magic immunity. Stop casting at them. Swap to physical damage or wait it out.
• Evasion. Physical dodge. Melee stop hitting. Casters keep going.
• Riposte. Parry wall. Melee sit it out. Casters ignore it and keep hitting.
• Feint. Area-of-effect damage reduction. Chip is fine. Do not dump a cleave cooldown into it.
• Vanish. Combat reset. Do not instantly AoE. Grappling Hook is slower this season, so a vanished outlaw is gone longer — do not chase the hook path.

Crowd control

• Kidney Shot
• Cheap Shot
• Blind
• Gouge
• Grappling Hook
• Sap

Dispels

• Blind is magic — dispel it. That is the peel they use when Grappling Hook is still on the longer cooldown.
• Do not try to dispel Between the Eyes. Use a defensive or do not get stunned for it.

Mobility

Grappling Hook, Sprint, Shadowstep if talented, and Vanish. Grappling Hook cooldown is longer this season — they do not get infinite re-enters. Kite after a missed hook. Do not stand in a line from them to a pillar; that is still the yank into Smoke Bomb. Step out of the cloud to peel. Do not chase a hooked outlaw into the cloud.

Kill windows

• After a missed Between the Eyes with Cloak of Shadows already down.
• Adrenaline Rush burned without a kill and Grappling Hook still on cooldown — they are stuck.
• They Grappling Hook into a bad room and Riposte is not up.

When to run

When Kidney Shot is up, Between the Eyes is coming, and you have no defensive. Line. Do not stay in melee inside Smoke Bomb. Once they Grappling Hook in, they stay committed.

When to attack

After a missed Between the Eyes with Cloak of Shadows already down. After Adrenaline Rush burns and Grappling Hook is still on cooldown. Casters ignore Evasion and Riposte.

Common tricks

• They Grappling Hook you into Smoke Bomb so your healer is playing a different fight. Step out of the cloud before you press anything.
• They Cloak of Shadows the first magic crowd control every round. Throw a junk spell, then the real one.
• Between the Eyes looks smaller this season, so people skip the defensive. The stun into Between the Eyes is still the kill — wall it.

Common mistakes against them

• Standing in Smoke Bomb after Grappling Hook.
• Dumping magic into Cloak of Shadows.
• Trinketing Cheap Shot or Gouge instead of Kidney Shot.
• Skipping a defensive because Between the Eyes hits softer now.
